5 Womens Basketball Student-Athletes Added to the NTJCAC All-Conference Team
Elasia Yarborough, Zoe Brown, Cori Brown, Nyah Morgan, and Takiyah Lewis each earn honorable mention awards.
The North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference recently announced their Women's Basketball All-Conference Selections, and the SWCC Women's Basketball Program had a notable presence with five student-athletes receiving honorable mention honors.
Elasia Yarborough from Houston, Texas, had a standout season, leading the team in scoring with an average of 13.9 points per game (ppg). She also contributed 3.9 rebounds per game (rpg) and 1.3 steals per game (spg). Her season highlight was scoring a career-high 27 points against Hill College.
Takiyah Lewis, a freshman from Fort Worth, TX, averaged 7.9 ppg, 4.7 rpg, and 1.1 bpg. She achieved a season-high in rebounds with 19 vs Weatherford College.
Zoe Brown from Mesquite, TX, played a crucial role for the Rams with averages of 7.5 ppg and 2.7 rpg. She had a season-high of 14 points and shot 100% from the free-throw line in a game against Collin County Community College.
Nyah Morgan, Dallas, Tx, known for her defensive prowess averaged 6.6 ppg, 6.8 rpg, and 2.5 bpg, shooting 49% from the field. Morgan was the leading rebounder for the Lady Rams this season.
Cori Brown, a sophomore from Mesquite, TX, contributed 3.3 ppg and 5.5 rpg. She led the team in free-throw percentage at 81% and excelled academically with a 3.8 cumulative GPA, earning her all-academic honors.
These athletes have not only excelled on the court but have also demonstrated strong academic performance, contributing to the overall success of the SWCC Women's Basketball Program.
